SUMMARY:Understanding muscle stem cell defects to better treat myopathies
DESCRIPTION:Conference poster \nAffiche_Nicolas Dumont \nYou are cordially invited to the scientific conferences of the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology . \nDate: Thursday\, February 12\, 2026 at 9 a.m. \nLocation : Pavillon Paul-G. Desmarais Pavilion\, room 1120. \nSpeaker: Nicolas Dumont\nAssociate Professor\nDepartment of Rehabilitation\nUniversité de Montréal \nUnderstanding muscle stem cell defects to better treat myopathies. \nMyopathies are diseases known to alter the function and/or structure of muscle fibers. Recently\, a new class of myopathies has been identified as specifically affecting the function of muscle stem cells\, the cells responsible for muscle growth and regeneration. Our laboratory is seeking to better understand the molecular signature of these stem cells in different myopathic contexts\, in order to develop targeted therapeutic approaches aimed at restoring their regenerative capacity. \nGuest of : Pf. Noël Raynal \nMade possible by our platinum partners: \n \nand gold : \n \nTeachers who would like to meet the speaker after the session are asked to contact : Pf. Badhwar ; Pf. Najmanovich ; Pf. Raynal \nWe’re waiting for you with good coffee!!! \nViennese pastries will be offered to the first 25 people to arrive! \n Don’t forget to bring your own coffee cups \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Exploring the diversity of bacterial holdfast polar adhesins from Québec aquatic environments
DESCRIPTION:MICROBIOLOGY\, INFECTIOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY \nCONFERENCE \nAs part of our next departmental seminar\, we are delighted to welcome Dr CecileBerne researcher in Yves Brun’s laboratory (Faculty of Medicine) \nExploring the diversity of bacterial holdfast polar adhesins fron Québec aquatic environments \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConference details\n\nTitle : Exploring the diversity of bacterial holdfast polar adhesins from Québec aquatic environments\nDate: Thursday\, February 12\nTime: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.\nLocation: Pavillon Roger-Gaudry\, room N-833\n\n\nNote: The presentation will be delivered in English\n\n\nAbout the speaker\n\nDr. Berne’s research focuses on bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation\, with particular emphasis on polar adhesins in Alphaproteobacteria. Her work integrates microbial ecology\, phenotypic characterization\, and comparative genomics to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying surface attachment. \n\nBelow is a summary of his presentation.\n\nPoster Dr Cécile Berne\n
